Choosing a 13-inch laptop

13-inch laptops are the most portable full-size laptops: small enough for any bag, usually under 1.4 kg, and with a keyboard that’s still comfortable for typing all day. Many are premium thin and light laptops or 2-in-1s.

The small screen makes sharpness more important, so look for more than Full HD if you read or write a lot. Expect fewer ports and no number pad. Battery life is often excellent, because the small screen uses less power.

If you’ll mostly use it at a desk, consider a 14-inch laptop, which gives you more screen for little extra weight.
