Music production loads the processor in a way few other jobs do: every track, synth and effect has to be worked out in real time. If the processor can’t keep up, you get crackles and dropouts. Every pick here has a fast processor and at least 16 GB of memory.
Memory decides how many sample libraries and instruments you can load at once. Storage matters too: sample packs and libraries can take hundreds of gigabytes, so a fast 1 TB SSD is a good start.
Think about noise and ports. Loud fans get into vocal recordings, so a quiet laptop is easier in a small studio. Check you have the USB or Thunderbolt ports your audio interface and controllers need.

16 GB for most producers. 32 GB helps if you use large sample libraries, orchestral instruments or lots of plugins at once.
Logic Pro is Mac-only. Ableton Live, FL Studio, Cubase and Reaper run on both. Many producers choose Mac for its low audio latency out of the box, but Windows works well with a good audio interface.
It has the power, but loud fans can get into recordings, and some have audio latency issues. A quieter laptop is usually the better studio companion.
